I have enjoyed a number of Tony Parsons' books over the years (About a boy, Man and boy, One for my baby, etc) so when I saw this on sale I bought it. When it arrived I was a bit surprised; firstly as it was a hardback, so a really good "deal", but also that it wasn't the normal Tony Parsons style that I was expecting. I even thought it was by a different author altogether, albeit with the same name. However it didn't take long for these doubts to disappear. I found it a thoroughly good read; well written, with a gripping storyline and believable characters. Although it is the latest in a series of books with the same character, DI Max Wolfe, my late arrival didn't affect my enjoyment. I will be buying some of the earlier books in the same series soon.
